Summary
Use the Bulk upload page to add many CPD activities at once: CSV import from a spreadsheet, or bulk certificate upload. Subscriber features; template and column names explained.
You can bring in many activities at once from the main navigation: open Bulk upload (it appears after Data Entry).
Who can use it
Bulk certificate upload and CSV import (including downloading the CSV template) are available when your account has subscriber access. If you see messaging such as “subscribers only”, complete an upgrade in the app first, or submit a support ticket: https://medberry.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new
Bulk certificate upload
1. Open Bulk upload.
2. Under Bulk certificate upload, either drag and drop several files onto the area, or click to choose files.
3. Supported types include JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, PDF, and Word (`.doc` / `.docx`), with multiple files in one go.
4. MedReflect processes each file in turn: it reads the certificate, then generates a reflection. Status labels such as “Reading certificate…” and “Generating reflection…” show progress.
5. When a row shows Ready to save, check the title, date, and duration fields and edit them if needed.
6. Use Save to add completed rows to your diary (only rows that are ready and have a title are saved). Use Clear all if you want to discard the list.
If a file errors, remove it or try a clearer scan or a different format, then add the file again.
CSV bulk import
Use this when you already have a spreadsheet of past CPD (for example from another system or your own records).
1. Open Bulk upload.
2. Under CSV bulk import, choose Download template to get a starter file named like `medreflect-import-template.csv`.
3. The template uses columns: title, date, duration, notes. You can also use compatible column names (see below).
4. Fill in your data. For dates, use DD/MM/YYYY (for example `15/03/2025`) or YYYY-MM-DD (for example `2025-03-15`). Other date formats may not import correctly.
5. Upload CSV and check the on-screen preview of rows. Remove any row you do not want.
6. Choose Save to create those entries in MedReflect.
Recognised column headers (the first row of your file). Names are matched in a flexible way (spaces ignored, case ignored). You must have at least one column that means title:
- Title (required): `title`, `activitytitle`, or `activity`
- Date (optional): `date`, `coursedate`, or `activitydate`
- Duration / hours (optional): `duration`, `hours`, or `cpdpoints`
- Notes (optional, used as context for later reflection): `notes`, `whatwascovered`, `description`, or `content`
After CSV import
Imported rows become saved entries with title, date, duration, and notes, but they may not have reflection text yet.
1. Open History (your saved list, filters, and export).
2. If you still have a CSV preview open on Bulk upload, finish Save or Cancel first so the import panel clears.
3. When you have subscriber access and at least one saved entry has no reflection yet, you should see a summary such as how many entries have no reflection yet, and a button Generate all reflections.
4. Click Generate all reflections and wait until progress finishes. Then open individual entries and review the drafts the same way you would for a single upload.
Tips
- For CSV, every data row needs a non-empty title or that row is skipped.
- The file must include a header row plus at least one data row.
- For bulk upload, legible certificates give better automatic titles and dates than dark or cropped photos.
